The Reader Experiment
I started writing publicly to explore a question: what makes complex ideas worth reading, discussing, and sharing? I tried different subjects, formats, and ways of involving readers. It was exploratory from the beginning, not a controlled study with a fixed hypothesis.
What I observed: Some pieces traveled well beyond my existing network; others prompted more conversation than reach. The response varied considerably from one piece to another. Impressions and reactions tell me how people encountered the writing, but not necessarily what they understood, learned, or changed their minds about.
What came out of it: A record of the writing, reader responses, and questions worth testing more deliberately. I’m using that feedback to decide what to explore next, while keeping the difference between an observation and a conclusion clear.
